Peter George delivered a remarkable victory for South Australia in Hobart, where they recovered from being bowled out for 55 in their first innings to win by 43 runs. Tasmania began the final day needing 77 more runs to win with five wickets in hand but when their captain George Bailey departed without adding to his overnight score of 77, it was game on.Rob Cassell had Bailey trapped lbw and George proceeded to skittle the lower order, taking all of the remaining four wickets. Luke Butterworth made 20 and Jason Krejza managed 14, but the Tigers could only increase their overnight total by 33 before the final wicket fell, Krejza caught at slip to complete George’s five-for.George finished with 5 for 28 and took nine wickets for the match, continuing his love affair with Bellerive Oval, where in the corresponding game last year he collected 11 for the match. Cassell ended up with 4 for 58 in the victory, which was South Australia’s first of the Sheffield Shield campaign.
