Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact with the agent of Dusan Vlahovic over a potential move before the summer transfer window ends.
The Lowdown: Tottenham frontrunners
It has recently been reported that Spurs are currently the frontrunners to sign the 21-year-old, but they may need to spend big in order to procure his signature.
With the future of Harry Kane at the north London club being uncertain at the moment amid interest from Manchester City, the Lilywhites may need to being in a top striker before the transfer window shuts.
The Latest: Agent contact
As per Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Spurs have now contacted Vlahovic’s agent Darko Ristic ahead of a potential move.
The news outlet claims that they are ‘willing to spend important figures’ in order to sign the Fiorentina ace, but no official contact has been made with the Serie A club as of yet, only with his agent.
The Verdict: Sign
Whatever price it takes to sign Vlahovic, Tottenham need to match it, as he would certainly elevate the quality in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
The Serbia international scored 21 goals and supplied a further two assists in Italy’s top flight last season (Transfermarkt), and he was ‘phenomenal’ in the second half of the campaign in particular according to Serie A expert Conor Clancy.
He would certainly be a statement signing, and landing him may even convince Kane to stay at Spurs.
