Brentford draw 1-1 with Man UtdAjer cancels out Mount's strikeFrank says he almost 'lost faith' in footballWHAT HAPPENED?

Mason Mount looked to have secured a smash and grab win with a goal in the 96th minute for the Red Devils but Bees defender Kristoffer Ajer secured a deserved equaliser three minutes later. After the match at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, manager Frank explained why he was a whisker away from becoming demoralised with the sport.

Brentford hit the woodwork four times before Mount's opener; they had 31 shots on goal to United's 11 and their expected goals tally was 3.11 vs 0.51. Therefore, before they drew level, manager Frank felt somewhat hopeless.

WHAT THOMAS FRANK SAID

He said: "How we didn't win this game is incredible. It was the most one-sided 1-1 game. There should have been only one winner in the game, that could only be us. Then you go 1-0 down in the 96th minute and you think football is brutal. I almost lost faith in the football god but he gave a bit back."

Frank's Brentford side – who are 15th in the table – are next in action on Wednesday when they host Brighton in the Premier League, whereas Erik ten Hag's sixth-placed United travel to Chelsea a day later in the English top-flight.
